John Daly II, the son of PGA Tour fan favorite John Daly, will make his Korn Ferry Tour debut this weekend, according to an announcement.

“Hey, everybody, I’m so excited to see how my son plays in the Compliance Solutions Championship Korn Ferry tournament in Norman, Oklahoma,” the elder Daly said. “Unfortunately, I can’t be there to support him. I’ll be playing the DICK’S Open Championship in Endicott. But anyway, let’s go Little John. Thank you guys.

“Once again, go watch my son grip and rip and I know he’s a little nervous, but he’s so excited. And as the Daly family, we cannot thank y’all enough. Go get them Little John Griffin and rip it. See y’all.”

Daly II, who played golf for the University of Arkansas, will now make his professional debut.

“A rising junior at Arkansas, Daly II received a sponsor exemption into the event,” Cameron Jourdan of Golf Week wrote. “In eight events last season, he had a 71.78 stroke average and two top-10 finishes.

“Daly II is no stranger to the public eye, as he has made appearances (including a win in 2021) at the PNC Championship in Orlando alongside his dad at the season-ending scramble event. The duo also has runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2022.”

Daly II made headlines in 2022 when he joined Arkansas, signing an NIL deal with Hooters. He was the restaurant’s first ambassador through NIL.

“We eat at Hooters, we love it,” Daly Sr said at the time. “It’s the best chicken wings in the world and the atmosphere is great. I’ve been a part of the Hooters family since 2001 basically. I just love everything about Hooters. Little John, he loves Hooters and I think it’s just awesome. It’s great to be sponsored by someone you actually love.”

After the news broke, Daly II delivered a legendary quote regarding the relationship between Hooters and his surname.

“I have seen my father’s great relationship with Hooters over the years, and I am proud to continue my family’s association with this iconic brand,” stated Daly, via Front Office Sports.

According to Front Office Sports, the deal was a multi-year partnership.

“Both golfers will be included in social media and digital activations as part of the deal,” wrote Amanda Cristovich of Front Office Sports. “They’ll wear Hooters clothing and host in-person events at restaurants, and the senior Daly’s caddie will carry a Hooters golf bag during the PGA Tour Champions circuit.”
