John Harbaugh reveals Ben Cleveland suffered a head injury in camp
The Baltimore Ravens will look to sport arguably the best rushing attack in the NFL next season, led by reigning MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson and massive offseason acquisition running back Derrick Henry. In order to do so, head coach John Harbaugh and the Ravens will rely heavily on the success of their offensive line to win the battle of the trenches. Unfortunately, through the early part of training camp, Baltimore has lost the services of guard Ben Cleveland.
Cleveland left practice early on Thursday, and while some speculated it might be because of the heat Baltimore is dealing with at training camp, Harbaugh rejected that notion and provided an update on the Ravens guard’s situation.
“No. He got his head banged a little bit. So we’ll be evaluating that,” said Harbaugh.
Cleveland was projected to be Baltimore’s starting right guard this season. He is battling Daniel Faalele for the position. At this juncture, it is unclear the severity of the former Georgia Bulldogs injury or how long it will keep him out of practice. But as of now, look for the Ravens’ third-year player and former Minnesota Golden Gopher to step in and fill Cleveland’s role for the time being.
Eddie Jackson signs one-year deal with the Ravens
The Ravens have added an experienced defensive back to the roster ahead of training camp. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, former Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson signed a one-year deal with Baltimore for the 2024 season.

Jackson began his career by playing seven seasons for the Chicago Bears. The team drafted him in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Alabama. He made the Pro Bowl twice in seven seasons, one in 2018 and one in 2019. He also earned first-team All-Pro recognition in 2018 under Matt Nagy and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
Despite his consistency for the Bears, Jackson hasn’t played a full season of games since the 2020 season. He played 14 in 2021, then 12 in each of the 2022 and 2023 seasons. He posted a career-low 37 tackles last season with one interception and 1.5 tackles for loss. In 2022, despite missing games, he tallied 80 tackles and four interceptions.
