After winning an elusive national title for the University of Michigan, Jim Harbaugh is back in the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers, and his brother John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens has taken notice.

The duo won’t have to wait long to face each other head-to-head once again, as the Chargers and Ravens will clash in Los Angeles during Week 12. Of course, it’s not the first, or the most prominent meeting between the two, as John’s Ravens defeated John’s San Francisco 49ers during Super Bowl XLVII.

Still, John Harbaugh is looking forward to the battle and the challenge facing his brother will present, as he explained during a press conference earlier this week.

“I’m looking forward to it, you know, I guess. I mean, how excited was I to face off against him in the driveway, when we were playing you know, 1-on-1 hockey, or 1-on-1 basketball, or wrestling? Or when my dad said, ‘Put the gloves on and go into the basement if you want to fight each other all of the time,’ so I guess it was kind of exciting,” John Harbaugh said, regarding the excitement level pertaining to facing his brother once again in the NFL. “Then again, you know, it wasn’t that great. Especially when you got bigger. It got more and more challenging.

“So I think — that day will come when it comes, so we’re not really thinking about it too much. But when it comes, it’ll be cool. It’ll be historic.”

Obviously, John Harbaugh isn’t any stranger to his brother’s competitive nature, and he recognizes it won’t be easy to beat him and the Chargers when Week 12 rolls around. Still, he’s appreciative of his brother’s return to the NFL, and having someone like Jim in the league.

“I like it because it’s my guy, you know what I mean?” John Harbaugh stated, via The Lounge. “There’s good relationships with the coaches around the league, some more than others and all that. But kind of everybody’s the enemy, and Jim will be the enemy along with his team when we play him. But the rest of the time he’s my brother.”

“So it’s nice to have someone that I can call, or talk to about rules, or meetings, or know that I’ve got someone to go to lunch with. Someone that will hang out with me at the meetings. I’ve had a couple meetings where like no one would talk to me, I’m like why? What’s wrong with me? Jim still likes me so everything’s okay.”

When Week 12 rolls around, all eyes will be on the Harbaugh brothers. It’ll be fascinating to see where the Ravens and Chargers are in their respective seasons at that time, but it should be a thrilling game regardless of their records.
