Jon Rahm's F-bomb caught on cameras during disappointing Open round
Jon Rahm didn’t enjoy the best round on Thursday to start the 2023 Open Championship. And, at one point, his emotions boiled over, resulting in a very loud, very audible use of an F-bomb.
Rahm’s frustrations hit a peak on the 10th hole after missing a short par putt. The two-time major champion then shouted, “F***!” which was followed by a hilarious apology from the broadcaster on Peacock.
Anyone who has ever played golf has had one of those moments. But seeing (or hearing) it from a professional golfer? That makes us all feel a little bit better about ourselves.
Rahm began major championship season with a big victory at Augusta. The PGA Tour star fended off Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson to claim the first green jacket of his career by winning The Masters. It was the second major championship win of his career.
Rahm concluded Thursday’s round from the Open Championship by carding a 3-over-par 74. He followed that up with a much better outing on Friday, shooting a -1 in the second round to make the weekend cut at +2.
The best Rahm has finished in the Open Championship came in 2021, concluding that tournament in a tie for third place.
Jon Rahm frustrated by fan-boy media
The missed putt on the 10th hole wasn’t the only thing bugging Rahm on Thursday. Following the first round from the Open Championship, the star golfer lit into fan-boy media covering the event.

He claimed that people got in his way throughout the round, not allowing him to play at his own pace. Rahm didn’t hold back when addressing the matter.
“Well, I mean, I’m trying to walk and there’s way too many people in my way and I can’t go forward at my own pace because they’re in the way,” Rahm said. “Very simple. And then I’m walking off 18 and I’m trying to deal with the unlucky moment on 18 and there’s somebody with a boom mic in my ass. Keeping up with Rory’s (McIlroy) pace. It’s kinda disregard that I existed.”
Saying that Rahm didn’t have the greatest day on Thursday would be an understatement. But he was still able to push through and made the weekend cut.
Rahm remains one of the top golfers in the world, but he’ll need quite a bit of luck if he wants to claim his first victory in the Open Championship.
