Jonathan Owens gushes over wife Simone Biles' gold medal-winning performance at Paris 2024 Olympics
Get you someone who supports you the same way Jonathan Owens supports Simone Biles.
After Biles won the women’s vault at the 2024 Paris Olympics, scoring a 15.300 average to secure a third Olympic Gold Medal in the past week, Owens took to social media to tell the world exactly how he felt about it.
“Just another reminder that my wife is THE SH*T!” he wrote on X.
Owens, who knew that the Paris 2024 Olympics was coming up, ensured that he’d be able to witness his wife win at least one gold medal by going so far as structuring his contract with the Chicago Bears this offseason around the Olympics — right in the middle of training camp.
He began training camp with the Bears last week, but was off to Paris by the time the Games began to cheer on Biles in the numerous events she would compete in.
“Obviously the Olympics were coming up and you know who my wife is,” Owens said Thursday after the Bears’ training camp practice, via On3’s Nikki Chavanelle. “It was all respectful. We went to them and asked, ‘We’d really appreciate if he could go to support his wife.’ I can’t wait to be able to support her.”
Owens would be able to witness Biles’ first two Olympic Gold Medal wins, but was on his flight back to Chicago during her medal-winning performance on the vault. Still, he made sure that he was tracking her performance and throw in his two cents after the gold medal was won.

Of course, during both vault routines that Biles accomplished — she knew that she won gold. Smiling bright immeditaley after both vaults and clapping for herself, it appeared to have been a validating performance for the most decorated US Olympic gymnast of all time.
Biles famously withdrew herself from multiple events at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in an attempts to prioritize her mental health and safety. Biles dubbed her Olympic run in 2024 a redemption tour, and three gold medals later she has more than exceeded expectations in Paris over the past week. She has more than proven herself — and isn’t done yet.
She’ll look to pad that number even further on Sunday as she competes in the Uneven Bars final on Sunday at 9:40 a.m. ET where she’ll look to take home the 11th Olympic medal of her career. The competition will air live on Peacock.
