Jordan Addison addresses recent arrest, potential suspension: 'I'll own up to whatever discipline comes my way'
The Minnesota Vikings second-year wide receiver Jordan Addison found himself in hot water earlier in the month after being arrested in California on suspicion of a DUI. But the former USC star is not running from his recent poor decision.
On the opening day of Minnesota’s training camp, Addison made himself available to the media, which led to his first public address about his DUI arrest. The Vikings first-round pick from the 2023 NFL draft did not discuss any details surrounding the ongoing situation. However, he did make it clear that he was ready for whatever punishment came his way.
“I’m not sure what’s going on,” started Addison. “I own up to whatever it is; whatever disciplinary actions that come my way. I’m going to stand tall [and] get through it. Same thing [with the Vikings]. Whatever is out there for me, I’m going to stand on all 10 and take whatever comes with it.
“I own up to everything. I feel anything that comes my way was meant to happen or is deserved. So I’ll do what I do.”
With the Vikings and the NFL yet to weigh in on the situation, Addison kept his words limited. However, though selective, the Minnesota wide receiver was able to convey his thoughts and feelings on the situation and his potential punishment clearly and concisely.

Addison was the No. 23 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He was brought on to compliment Minnesota star receiver Justin Jefferson after the Vikings parted ways with veteran wideout Adam Thielen, who landed in the NFC South with the Carolina Panthers.
In his first year in Minnesota, Addison showed off his ability to stretch the field, recording 70 catches on 108 targets for 911 yards, 10 receiving touchdowns, and averaging 13 yards per reception. Arguably, the best game of his rookie campaign came against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15. Addison finished the game with six receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns despite Minnesota falling short in overtime 27-24.
Addison might have landed himself in hot water with his DUI arrest. But the young second-year player is meeting the issue head-on, taking full responsibility for his actions, and ia prepared for whatever punishment the league and/or Minnesota decide.
