Jordan Love injury update: ESPN insider reveals Packers QB status
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love suffered a groin injury this past weekend, but it’s possible he could be healthy enough to play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. On NFL Live, ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky shared an injury update on Love who did not practice on Wednesday.
“We didn’t see much at practice because Jordan Love was riding an exercise bike, but we may have learned something about his status for this week when we talked to him in the locker room,” Demovsky said. He was asked how realistic for him to play this week. He really didn’t hesitate and said ‘I think it’s realistic.’ Even without practicing, he said it’s not ideal going into a big week, but he could do it.
“The one thing we heard Matt LaFleur say consistently about Love whether it was the knee injury earlier in the season or this one is that Love has to be able to ‘protect himself.’ We asked Jordan Love what that means to him and he said that means I have to be able to move in the pocket and I can’t just be stationary. That’s what he was in the Jacksonville game when he got hurt on Sunday.”
Love suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Jaguars game. Malik Willis took over and threw a touchdown pass to lead the Packers to a 30-27 victory. If Love can’t go on Sunday, Willis will make his third start of the year, which the Packers are comfortable with considering he won his first two starts earlier in the season.

Jordan Love talks about facing the Detroit Lions in a big NFC North battle
“We’ll monitor it, but obviously a big division opponent coming up so I’m going to do all I can to try to get back,” Love told reporters on Wednesday, per Packers.com.
No matter who’s at quarterback, he will need to play mistake-free football against the Lions who have the best record in the NFC (6-1). “They’re definitely ballhawk players,” Love said about the Lions defenders. “We have a feel for them, and you’ve just got to always be smart with the ball, be picky, make great reads.”
