Jordan Love injury update: Green Bay Packers place designation on QB
On Friday, the Green Bay Packers listed quarterback Jordan Love as questionable against the Minnesota Vikings. They also listed cornerback Jaire Alexander as questionable.
Love has practiced every day this week as a limited participant due to an MCL strain. He suffered the injury in the Packers’ Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Before leaving the game, Love completed 17-of-34 pass attempts for 260 yards and two touchdowns while throwing one interception.
Since Love’s injury, the Packers are 2-0. Malik Willis has started both games in Love’s place. In his two starts, Willis has tallied 324 passing yards and two scores while throwing zero interceptions. If Love is not able to play on Sunday against the Vikings, the Packers should feel comfortable with Willis behind center.
Nonetheless, Love is working as hard as he can to return to the field. Earlier this week, the fifth-year QB pulled back the curtain on his status.
“We’re building it up for sure,” Love said of his workload. “I’m trying to push it and I’ve been trying to get back as fast as I can no matter who the opponent was.”

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided further insight on Jordan Love’s impending return.
“My guess and sense is we get Love but I think they just want to see how he gets through the week,” Schefter said. “They want to see how his knee responds.
“Matt LaFleur yesterday said that they’re ready to take this up to game-time because there’s really no benefit in them saying right now, ‘Well, OK, Jordan looks and feels great and he’s starting.’ They’re just not going to do that,” Schefter said. “Part of that is gamesmanship and part of it is they do want to make sure, with the conservative training staff that they have, that he is OK to play on Sunday.”
The Packers will square off against the undefeated Minnesota Vikings at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. The game will air live on CBS.
