Jordan Love injury update: Green Bay Packers QB reveals status for Wild Card vs. Eagles
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love said Wednesday he’s “hopeful” to play in Sunday’s NFC Wild Card Round game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
“We’ll see. Yeah. I’m hopeful,” Love said, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
Love was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice after suffering an elbow injury in this past Sunday’s regular season finale against the Chicago Bears. Love said after the game he lost feeling in his throwing hand after falling on his arm in the second quarter. He followed up Wednesday, saying he no longer is experiencing numbness in his hand but has some soreness in his elbow.
Love, who left the game and did not return, could have returned if Green Bay needed him to, head coach Matt LaFleur said. Malik Willis replaced Love under center and at one point hurt his thumb but did not exit the game. LaFleur said he believed both were going to be fine.

“I talked to both of those guys. They seem to be doing alright,” LaFleur said Monday. “But as far as their limits — I think they’re going to be OK, but we’ll find out over the next two days.”
Love, who missed two games earlier this season with a left knee injury, finished his 2024 campaign throwing for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The Packers dropped their second consecutive game and aren’t exactly rolling heading into the postseason. They’ll need Love to be at his best to have a chance in Philadelphia, facing a team which finished the season winning 12 of its last 13 games.

Packers, Eagles both hopeful to have Jordan Love, Jalen Hurts in starting lineup
The Eagles, like their soon-to-be opponent, are dealing with some quarterback uncertainty of their own. Jalen Hurts practiced for the first time Wednesday since suffering a concussion in the first quarter of the Dec. 22 game against the Washington Commanders. He missed the last two games, with Kenny Pickett starting in the Week 17 game against the Dallas Cowboys and Tanner McKee starting this past Sunday against the New York Giants.
Hurts was a big reason the Eagles finished the 2024 season with a 14-3 record and the No. 2 seed in the NFC. In 15 games, Hurts completed 687% of his passes for 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions with a 103.7 passer rating. Hurts was also strong running the ball, tallying 630 yards and 14 touchdowns on 150 carries.
“We’ve got so much faith in him. And the things he can do,” head coach Nick Sirianni said Monday on 94.1 WIP. “This is why you practice the way we practice. Practice is high intensity. We feel like we have a great practice plan, and our guys go about their business in practice very game-like. That’s where you work out your kinks or anything that you have, just being locked in and focused all week.
“We’ve got a lot of faith in Jalen as he gets ready to play the football game.”
