Jordan Love injury update: Matt LaFleur reveals Packers QB status ahead of Lions
Jordan Love is officially questionable to play in Sunday’s Week 9 game between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, according to the latter’s head coach Matt LaFleur.
“Jordan Love is questionable to play Sunday against the Lions, Matt LaFleur says,” Matt Schneidman of The Athletic posted on X.
Earlier this week, Love told reporters there is a “realistic” possibility he plays against the Packers’ 6-1 NFC North rival, and it seems like his status backs up that assertion. LaFleur wouldn’t guarantee anything, but the quarterback is evidently keeping hope alive.
“I think it’s realistic,” said Love, when asked if there was a shot at him playing against Detroit, via Schneidman.
Love, who suffered a strained groin in Sunday’s 30-27 Week 8 road victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, rode an exercise bike during team stretches and did not go outside with those practicing Wednesday. He was one of many Packers in the rehab area, including running back Josh Jacobs, cornerback Jaire Alexander, safety Evan Williams, left guard Elgton Jenkins, left tackle Rasheed Walker and center Josh Myers.

The former first-round quarterback sustained the injury in the third quarter after taking a hit to the back. He previously went into the blue medical tent after suffering an injury in the first quarter. Love did not miss a snap and was back on the field for the Packers’ next offensive possession.
Moreover, Malik Willis replaced Love under center, completing 4-of-5 passes for 56 yards and a score. He added four carries for 23 yards. Willis filled in for Love earlier this season when the 25-year-old was out with a sprained MCL. He led Green Bay to wins over the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans.
Time will tell if Jordan Love is able to play, but the quarterback himself has called it less than ideal to not practice in preparation for a big-time matchup with their NFC North rivals. How effective he is, if he does suit up, remains to be seen.
