Jordan Love injury update: Packers starting QB plans for Titans game revealed
Jordan Love has been on an incredible injury recovery timeline but will need at least another week before coming back. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Green Bay Packers plan to start Malik Willis on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Willis played Week 2 against Indianapolis and was able to pick up a win.
When Green Bay plays an NFC North opponent, Minnesota, next week, there is a chance Love could be back in the starting role.
“The #Packers plan to start QB Malik Willis against the #Titans, with Jordan Love likely needing one more week of healing from his MCL sprain, per me and @TomPelissero,” Rapoport said via X. “Love, who hasn’t been ruled out, was back at practice this week, and could return vs. the #Vikings.”
Love was at Packers practice on Thursday and was taking reps while in pads. The MCL sprain was suffered during Week 1 against Philadelphia while playing in Brazil, occurring on one of the final plays of the game. In what was initially a multiple-week diagnosis, a faster timetable appears to have occurred.

However, Willis will once again be taking the snaps for the Week 3 showdown against the Titans.
Willis was effective during the contest, throwing for 122 yards and a touchdown while completing over 80% of his throws. Not the flashiest stats but enough to get Green Bay the victory. His feet were also a factor with 41 rushing yards on six attempts.

Jordan Love practices for Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love is getting closer to returning to action. Rob Demovsky of ESPN shared a video of Love practicing in pads on Thursday. This is the second consecutive day of practice for Love after he suffered a knee injury in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.
With Love back at practice, he could play in Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. The Utah State alum missed just one game – Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts, when Malik Willis took over as starting quarterback.
For Love to play on Sunday, he will need to get medical clearance. And even if that happens, Love will need to be mobile enough to protect himself.
“The trainers are seeing everything I’m doing and they’re not gonna put me out there unless they feel confident that I can protect myself,” Love said Wednesday, per ESPN. “But at the same time, that’s why it’s good to get some practice reps in and get that feel of what it’s like again.”
