Jordan Love using Raiders loss to motivate him to improve
The last time out for Jordan Love and Green Bay, the Packers lost in a close and frustrating game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Now, with an important game coming up on Sunday, Love and the Packers need to find a way to move on from that.
For Love, it starts with taking the feeling of a loss to Las Vegas and using that as motivation throughout the week.
“It’s not a great feeling, definitely left a very sick taste in my mouth that whole week,” Love said. “But, it’s part of the game. I’ve had three interception games before. You’ve got to find a way to bounce back. Having that sick taste in my mouth, it’s going to keep pushing me forward, keep motivating me to keep going, keep getting better.”
This is Jordan Love’s first season starting at quarterback for Green Bay. To this point, there has been an unfortunate lack of consistency from the Packers. They’re 2-3, which is second place in the NFC North but rapidly falling behind the Detroit Lions in first place.
Jordan Love, undeniably, struggled against the Raiders, throwing three interceptions in the game. That led to his former teammate Aaron Rodges to come to his defense on The Pat McAfee Show.
“Yeah I sent him a message last night, I love Jordan he’s a great kid,” Rodgers said. “I think he’s showed a lot of things early in the season. He’s shown the ability to throw the ball down the field, he’s very athletic, feel like he’s had a number of really nice look offs, and just a number of plays that kind of the average fan is gotta be like oh, this guy is gonna be around here for a while. This guy can really play.”

Both Jordan Love and the Packers need to bounce back quickly. Luckily, Green Bay does have a very winnable game coming up against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are just 1-5 and have a -71 point differential this season. For Jordan Love, this is an opportunity to put together a strong bounce back performance.
Troy Aikman weighs in on Jordan Love’s struggles
Former NFL quarterback and current broadcaster Troy Aikman weighed in on Jordan Love’s struggles at times this season, pointing out the pressure that he’s under.
“I had his first start a few years back in his second year when he played in Kansas City,” Aikman said.
“It was a tough game for him. Those are big shoes to step into. There’s no doubt. Aaron Rodgers did it when he replaced Brett Favre and now it’s Jordan Love’s turn. There’s a lot of expectations and you’re right. We’re in an age where we don’t really allow guys to develop. Granted, it’s his fourth year. So it’s not like he’s a rookie player that just played his sixth game. But there were a lot of things working against Jordan Love today.”
