FOX Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz is sharing details about his verbal altercation with NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport. While speaking with 670 The Score’s Leila Rahimi on Monday, Schultz explained why he and Rapoport went after each other last week at the NFL Scouting Combine.

“I think what happened between Ian and I probably had been brewing for quite some time,” Schultz said, per Awful Announcing. “And I just felt like I needed to say what I said and make it clear that I didn’t appreciate the way he was talking about me. And I felt I did that.”

Schultz also spoke about the photo of him speaking to Rapoport at a Starbucks in Indianapolis. “Obviously, you saw the photo. I don’t think the photo was particularly intimidating,” Jordan Schultz, who coincidentally is the son of longtime Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, explained. “But regardless of how you view it, I just felt like, for me, it was an important thing to say, important to get off my chest. I thought I did it. Hopefully, we can move forward.”

What Jordan Schultz and Ian Rapoport said to each other

Schultz and Ian Rapoport appeared to be mad at each other for their conflicting reports on the Las Vegas Raiders’ pursuit of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, revealed what Schultz and Rapoport said to each other.

“If you have anything to say to me, say it to my f*****g face,” Schultz reportedly told Rapoport. “If this continues, we’re going to have a f*****g problem.”

Rapoport then asked Schultz to step back from him, which led to Schultz saying, “If this happens again, we’re gonna have a f*****g problem. Now I’ll step back.”

Shortly after the incident, Rapoport poked fun at his verbal altercation when doing a report on the NFL Network. “There is one other member of our broadcast team that we got to bring in and he is the Jake Paul of NFL Network. Lots of buzz. He is trending with no punches shown,” Rich Eisen said.

“Thank you, Rich. I would say I’m properly caffeinated. A lot of great coffee brands. Dunkin’ does a really nice job,” Rapoport said, poking fun at Schultz and his Starbucks connections. “I could go on and on about the coffee brands that I love but that’s not for right now.”
