While the season is winding down, Kaulig Racing is still figuring out the driver situation in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Jordan Taylor is coming on board. While Taylor has been looking into getting into oval racing recently, Kaulig is going to give him what he’s been wanting… sort of.

Jordan Taylor is going to get to race on part of the Charlotte oval. That much is clear. Kaulig Racing is bringing Tyalor on to race the Roval in the Xfinity Series. It’s going to be a great time as always.

Taylor is a talented driver and racer. He’s known for his IMSA and sports car abilities. While I’m not sure he has a full-time NASCAR season in mind, it is interesting to see his progression. When Taylor goes short-track racing in Late Model stock cars, he goes by the alias, Rodney Sandstorm.

So, will we see Rodney Taylor or Jordan Sandstorm for the Roval? This is a great way to announce the partnership, and it’s hilarious.

Let’s not forget that Jordan Taylor almost won the pole at COTA in the Cup Series. I really thought he would pull it out. I want to see Taylor get into NASCAR a bit more. I think he could be a solid Xfinity guy or even turn into a formidable Cup driver.

I won’t say he’s Shane van Gisbergen, but he’s a world champion, regardless. The last time Taylor was in an Xfinity car was at Portland, he didn’t have a great race as he finished P27. However, I could see him being a top-10 driver if all goes well.

Kaulig Racing has big decisions for 2024

Now, Kaulig Racing has already solidified one-half of its Cup Series lineup for 2024. That means that they also have to get their 2024 Xfinity Series lineup figured out. None of that is as easy as plugging in this driver or another. Let’s face it, Chris Rice and Matt Kaulig put a ton of money into this program with sponsorship and more.

Justin Haley said he was leaving for Rick Ware Racing. So, in his place, Kaulig promoted Daniel Hemric to the 31 Cup car. That’s not a crazy signing or anything. It puts a trusted name and face in the seat, though.

No one knows what the 16-car will look like right now. It might be AJ Allmendinger again, but I don’t think he enjoys Cup racing all that much. Besides, he could be a perennial championship contender in the Xfinity Series.

Derek Kraus is a name for Xfinity for Kaulig Racing. Noah Gragson is a name that has popped up for Cup or Xfinity Series racing in that organization. Losing Haley and then having Austin Hill stay at RCR has really put them into, not “panic” mode, but close to it.

For now, I’m just happy to see Jordan Taylor back in NASCAR.
