Ever since Bill Belichick took the North Carolina job, speculation has circled regarding the head coach potentially returning to the NFL. People around Belichick have continually denied the interest, stating he is focused on the Tar Heels. His girlfriend, Jordan Hudson, has apparently now commented on the matter too.

Hudson posted a photo of herself with Belichick, tagging themselves at Kenan Stadium. Her caption reads “Two people who are overtly committed to @uncfootball.” A sign that Belichick is not going anywhere.

Belichick is in a nice Carolina blue shirt and tie, while Hudson is holding a football with a Tar Heel logo on it. An encouraging message for UNC fans amid all the rumors surrounding their head coach.

You can check out the post from Hudson below.

As a few more NFL jobs have opened up, speculation has run rampant around Belichick. The Dallas Cowboys may have been an option before accepting the North Carolina gig but those inside the UNC staff have denied any kind of NFL return.

“Bill is recruiting in DC today and Baltimore tomorrow,” North Carolina GM Michael Lombardi said via X. “His focus is on North Carolina football, hiring staff members and developing the team. The NFL isn’t a(n) option so please stop making it one. Thank you.”

Now adding in what Hudson had to say, North Carolina fans can let out a sigh of relief.

Bill Belichick working without signed North Carolina contract

Amid the backdrop of dozens of coaches around the country interviewing for various open NFL jobs, North Carolina coach Bill Belichick is currently working without a signed contract, apparently.

CBS Sports reports that there is no signed and fully executed contract yet between Belichick and North Carolina. The significance? That apparently leaves open a question as to whether Belichick could wriggle out of some terms of the deal should an NFL team come calling. Writes CBS Sports:

“Industry sources say that could lead to a legal gray area about how much, if any, of a buyout there would be if Belichick left for the pros.”

As written in Belichick’s term sheet proposal, the former New England Patriots head coach would owe a buyout of $10 million if he left the program before June 1, 2025. That figure drops down to just $1 million after June 1. Of course, that’s if the buyout clause is enforceable.
