Josh Allen is a high-profile NFL quarterback who is dating a well-known actress. He’d be perfect for season two of the hit Netflix docuseries.

Yet the leader of the Buffalo Bills doesn’t know if he’d like to be part of Quarterback. This summer’s season one features Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota. Call him undecided.

Josh Allen recognizes the pros of doing the docuseries. He hasn’t watched it yet, but he has talked to Mahomes about it.

“And I think it’s a really cool concept,” Allen said earlier this week. “I think that to have everything documented, especially as a quarterback, is very cool. I mean, you look at some of the documentaries that have come out in the past, the (Michael) Jordan documentary. But just to have that documented, especially if you can win and win at a high level and continue to be a successful quarterback in this league. to have that documented, I think is super special.”

Then there are the cons.

“I don’t want any outside distractions,” Josh Allen said. “I don’t want any unnecessary distractions for myself or this team. I’m not saying that it would be. I’m a little undecided on whether I would want to do it or not. I go back and forth sometimes in my mind, but as of right now I’m just trying to be the best quarterback for this team.”

There is going to be a season two. Netflix picked it up for another year almost as soon as it premiered. And it’s started a game of guessing which quarterback might want to let their lives be put on display.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said he turned down a chance to be in season one. And he won’t participate in season two. Why?

“I get enough media,” Prescott told reporters. “This team gets enough coverage.”

Justin Fields, who is headed into his third season with the Bears, also declined.

“They actually did reach out, and I don’t think I want to do it,” Fields said. “Just because I’d rather keep everything the way it is around here. I think just having cameras around the building, I think that may change the vibe of everyone. I just want to keep it natural, organic and really just focus on what’s going on in the building.

“Maybe down the road, but I don’t think I see myself doing it this year at least.”

So getting back to Josh Allen. He does play football in a smaller market, but he is a high-profile NFL player. He said he was stunned to learn there was so much interest in who he dates — Hailee Steinfeld of True Grit and Pitch Perfect fame. The producers of Quarterback likely are wanting the stars to start filming right now, if not sooner.

“The fact that anybody cares about that still blows my mind,” Allen said of outside interest in regards to his love life.

Think of all the fans who would care if he did a docuseries.
