Josh Allen injury update: Buffalo Bills QB undergoes X-Rays after win over Detroit Lions
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had to go to the X-Ray room just outside their locker room on Sunday evening, after their win over the Detroit Lions. But the move was apparently precautionary, as he wanted to get peace of mind after taking a “funky fall.” There was no reason for concern despite the X-Rays. And there were no broken bones, according to Jeff Darlington of ESPN.
Allen completed 23 of his 34 passes for 362 yards, while tossing in two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also tacked on 68 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Buffalo ended up winning, 48-42. Buffalo receiver Ty Johnson hauled in five catches for 114 receiving yards, leading the team in receiving yardage Sunday.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff posted big numbers in the loss, completing 38 of 59 passes for 494 passing yards, while tossing in five touchdowns. Detroit star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had a monster showing, hauling in 14 catches for 193 receiving yards and one touchdown. Detroit running back Jahmyr Gibbs also had over 100 all-purpose yards and two total touchdowns.
Buffalo moved to 11-3 overall, and they’re in first place of the AFC East. They clinched the AFC East earlier in the year, when they throttled the 49ers in Buffalo.

Unfortunately for Lions, they might have potentially lost one of their most important defensive stars. Their defense simply couldn’t afford to lose any more players, but they got some bad news on Sunday evening.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell told reporters that the initial belief is that defensive tackle Alim McNeill and corner Carlton Davis suffered injuries that “could be season-ending”, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. That was in addition to corner Khalil Dorsey, who was carted off the field late in the second quarter.
McNeill walked out of the Lions locker room with crutches and a brace on his right knee. He declined to speak with reporters after the game. It’s just yet another brutal blow for the Lions’ defense, right before the upcoming playoffs. Detroit still sits at 12-2 overall, but their defense has been banged up for much of the 2024 season. Things got even worse after Sunday.
