The end of the 2023 season could spell change under Sean McDermott in Buffalo. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen commented on the future of offensive coordinator Joe Brady on Monday after the team’s Divisional Round playoff loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. Allen would like Brady, who took over play-calling for Ken Dorsey in mid-November, to continue on in his role as coordinator in the 2024 season, but that decision will be up to the big man.

“I fully embrace it,” Allen said on Monday. “I love Joe, love what he brings to the team, the offense. The juice that he has, the passion he has for football, how much preparation he’s put into a tough situation these last seven to eight weeks, yeah. I’d fully embrace that. There’s stuff that needs to go on before that. And there’s probably an interview process and all that but he’s got my vote.”

Brady, who was the offensive coordinator for LSU in 2019, is adjusting well to his life coaching in the NFL. He spent two years with the Carolina Panthers, then moved to Buffalo as the QBs coach last season. Not only is he considered a very talented coordinator, but Brady also interviewed for the Atlanta Falcons head coaching job last week.

Chiefs take down Bills after missed field goal

The Bills fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 at Highmark Stadium on Sunday after an exciting back-and-forth battle. Despite having six more first downs than the Chiefs offense, the Bills ultimately missed their chance due to a field goal that went wide right in the fourth quarter. Allen finished the game with 186 passing yards, 72 rushing yards, one passing touchdown and two rushing touchdowns. He also defended kicker Tyler Bass after the game.

“I wish he wouldn’t have been put in that situation. You win as a team you lose as a team. One play doesn’t define a game, doesn’t define a season,” Allen said. “Losing sucks. Losing to them, losing to anybody.”

Now, it’s the Chiefs who’ll move on to the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens. It seems Kansas City has Buffalo’s number in the playoffs.

“Just lost in the playoffs to a team that’s kicked us out,” safety Jordan Poyer said post-game. “It’s tough. You work so hard throughout the season to fight and claw back, our backs against the wall, everybody doubting us midway through the season and we get here and just that close.”
