Josh Allen takes perceived shot at Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis after Bills smackdown of Jaguars
Some theorized Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills would come out of the gates slow on offense after completely remaking their wide receiving corps in the offseason. Well, that certainly hasn’t been the case through the first three weeks of the 2024 campaign.
The Bills quarterback has seen players like Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis walk out of Buffalo, but the team’s offense looks better than ever after a 47-10 drubbing of the latter’s Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday. Afterwards, Allen delivered a pointed quote to the media, and some believe it’s a shot at his two former pass catchers, and their selfish nature.
“It’s a fun and wonderful thing when you got a bunch of guys that don’t care about the stats, they don’t care about the touchdowns,” Allen said, following the win. “And again, I think, throughout practice, we’ve just had this mindset of, ‘Hey, let’s just do things the right way, and find ways to win football games,’ and that’s what we’re doing right now.”
Evidently, Allen and the Bills wide receivers are on the same page, and it’s contributing to their phenomenal offensive performances in 2024. While names like Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid and Mack Hollins don’t jump off the page like Diggs and Davis did, they’re helping Buffalo become arguably the top offense in the league at the moment.

The Bills have scored at least 31 points in all three of their wins, and they’ve beaten some good teams over the first three weeks of the campaign. Now, they’ll have their toughest test in Week 4, as they’ll be back in primetime for Sunday Night Football against the Ravens, in front of what should be a raucous home crowd in Baltimore.

So far on the season, Allen is putting up MVP-level numbers, accumulating 634 passing yards and 7 passing touchdowns, all without throwing an interception. Additionally, he’s continued to make plays with his legs, rushing for 85 yards and two touchdowns, as well.
Whether it’s a shot at Diggs and Davis or not, it’s evident Allen and the new-look Bills wide receiving corps share the same goal, and that’s simply to rack up the wins in Buffalo. Nobody is saying that wasn’t the case before, but something has certainly changed since the duo’s departure.
Time will tell if the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen can keep up their tremendous play, but bet against them at your own risk. They’re a team on a mission this season, even if they don’t have the same stars catching passes from their quarterback.
