Josh Berry wrecks early at Michigan while filling in for Noah Gragson
While filling in for the suspended Noah Gragson at Michigan, Josh Berry was running well until he found the wall. The NASCAR super-substitute was in the same place as Chase Elliott and Kyle Busch in this race after just over 50 laps. Tough end for Berry on the day.
LEGACY Motor Club is just not having a great week. Suspend your driver for off-the-track actions and then you have a wrecked race car. Berry had that 42-car running really well considering the circumstances. Then, he started to get loose and he went around.
This will be a week that LEGACY Motor Club tries to forget. Noah Gragson or not, this car just isn’t meant to run well in 2023 it seems.
This doesn’t mean a whole lot more than a disappointing end to a disappointing week for Noah Gragson, LEGACY M.C., and a little bit for Berry himself. He was running 16th when the wreck happened, and in that car, any finish in the top-20 is appreciated.
No one expected Berry to drive this car to a win. However, the number one rule for replacement drivers is to bring the car home clean. This time, Berry wasn’t able to do that. For whatever reason, the tires couldn’t hold up and Berry was soon finding himself in the wall.

NASCAR, Legacy Motor Club suspend Noah Gragson
On Saturday, it was announced that LEGACY Motor Club was suspending Noah Gragson effective immediately. Soon after, NASCAR released a statement in support of the suspension and issued their own suspension as well. A double whammy of sorts.
“NASCAR fully supports Legacy Motor Club’s decision to suspend Noah Gragson. Following his actions on social media, NASCAR has determined that Gragson has violated the Member Conduct section of the 2023 NASCAR Rule Book and has placed him under indefinite suspension.”
With this decision from LEGACY and NASCAR, you have to wonder if he will race in 2023 again. If not, you have to start wondering if he has a future in the Cup Series after this ordeal. He has a ton of talent, has driven well in Xfinity – now he has to prove that he can mature and put this behind him the best he can.
Noah Gragson is out, but his car is still struggling on the track.
