Josh Bilicki calls out Corey LaJoie for pit road incident: ‘Typical Corey’
NASCAR driver Josh Bilicki isn’t too happy with Corey LaJoie or Spire Motorsports. A wreck near the end of Stage 2 at the Charlotte Roval cost Bilicki a chance to finish Sunday’s Cup Series race inside the top-15.
LaJoie and Bilicki made contact coming off pit road, bringing out a caution flag. It proved to be a costly incident for Bilicki, who dropped significantly after the wreck. He finished 26th on Sunday, but he believes his car was much stronger.
“We got ran over,” Bilicki said when asked what happened coming off pit road. “Actually third time this year by a Spire car. It’s almost like we got a target on our back. We were setting ourselves up in really good position to run top-20, top-15 maybe, and run me right out of the pits.
“I saw in my rearview camera he was there and I left him room. I don’t know if he overdrove, but, typical Corey. Gonna apologize for some half-ass apology and, whatever, we move on.”
LaJoie finished the race in 17th.
Bilicki didn’t stop with the comments after the race. The driver then took to social media to vent his frustrations even more.

“Don’t even know what to say…just frustrated and disappointed. Feel like we’ve got a target on our back this year,” Bilicki wrote.
“We had a great car and worked our way up to 16th by the end of stage two before the 7 car dumped us as we exited pit road. It set us back a lap and killed all of our track position. We eventually got our lap back late in the race and battled to a P26 finish. … We legitimately outran several powerhouse teams in the first half of the race and that’s something we can be proud of. Be back in 2 weeks in Miami.”
Bilicki has made 10 starts on the NASCAR Cup Series this season.
