Josh Jacobs reveals what he likes most about Packers offense after successful first season

Josh Jacobs recently finished his first season with the Green Bay Packers, and to say it was a success would be an understatement. On3 recently caught up with the veteran running back and asked him what he likes most about playing in the Packers’ offense.
“I would say the versatility,” Jacobs told On3. “We got a lot of guys in the receiver room that can make plays. We got, obviously, a really good quarterback, captain, leader. And obviously, too, our head coach, he’s a great offensive mind. The things that we scheme up and the plays that we make, how he goes throughout the week preparing the guys to get ready for the game.”
Under the leadership of quarterback Jordan Love and head coach Matt LaFleur, Josh Jacobs had one of his best seasons in 2024. The former Alabama Crimson Tide star rushed for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns while catching 39 passes for 342 yards and one score. Jacobs was selected to his third Pro Bowl and finished 11th in Offensive Player of the Year voting.

Jacobs made his Packers debut in an interesting setting as the Packers took on the Eagles in Brazil in the season opener. Green Bay lost the game, but Jacobs showed the team made the right move by signing him to a four-year, $48 million contract last March as he rushed for 84 yards on 16 carries.
“The crowd was lit,” Jacobs said about the fans who attended the game at Corinthians Arena in Sāo Paulo, Brazil. “I would say that. The crowd was lit. The atmosphere of the game was pretty good. It was a weird week because we was there, we couldn’t really do too much. But then the surface, it was kind of slick. You know, it’s like a soccer field. So, it’s like a different type of surface. We had to kind of get adjusted to that.
“But it was a fun game. To come out there and play. It was basically like a shootout. We was scoring, they was scoring, we was scoring. So, it was a pretty good first game. The first game is always kind of messy. It’s always a lot of mistakes, a lot of penalties and things like that, but I think it was cool.”
