A bit of a scary moment for the pit crew of Josh Williams. The gas can had an issue and spilled fuel all over the pit box and gas man. One spark would have sent this NASCAR pit box up in flames.

Bad things can happen on pit stops. Crew members get hit, fires break out, and being covered in fuel is the last thing you want. Thankfully, no one was lit on fire after this, but it got sketchy.

The breather cap broke on the top of the can and fuel went everywhere. Josh Williams was trying to get his car fueled up, but I think more of it ended up on the ground than in his car.

Josh Williams is having a decent day in the top-20. His Kaulig teammate Shane van Gisbergen had early issues and was out of the race soon after going to pit road. Meanwhile, AJ Allmendinger has led a ton of laps and is in contention to win the race tonight.

Kaulig Racing has had a strange season. They only have wins on road courses with SVG. Williams has for the most part not had the season that many expected him to have.

This pit stop was a wild ride. You usually see some fuel spill on stops. But this was clearly a different situation entirely. No one wants their firesuit soaked in gasoline. Again, the crew is lucky a spark from the tire changer didn’t send the whole pit box up in a ball of flames.

Josh Williams looking to end season on a high note

This year, Josh Williams has only four top-10 finishes. Honestly, I think people expected more. This is about what he did last season with DGM Racing. Early in the season, Williams did have a few issues that were largely out of his control.

Williams is going to have another chance to make things happen with Kaulig in 2025. Daniel Dye is moving up to be his teammate full-time. So, there is a real chance to take a leadership position in the organization.

There are a few races left in the season. Williams has chances to impress and show that he belongs in that No. 11 car. He is one of the best personalities in the series and all signs point to him having talent behind the wheel.

After watching AJ Allmendinger win in Las Vegas tonight, will that give Josh Williams the inspiration he needs to have a big performance in the final three races of the season?
