Julian Edelman to join Fox NFL Kickoff as analyst for 2023 season
Former New England Patriots star Julian Edelman is getting involved with the NFL again. This time, the former receiver will be working as an analyst on Sundays.
FOX announced on Thursday that Edelman would join the FOX NFL Kickoff team for the 2023 season. He’ll join Charissa Thompson and fellow analysts Charles Woodson and Michael Vick.
The pre-game show begins at 11 a.m. ET on Sundays, an hour before FOX NFL Sunday. Edelman fills the seat left vacant by Sean Payton, who took the head coaching job with the Denver Broncos.
“Joining FOX Sports is a dream come true,” Edelman said in a statement. “I grew up watching the NFL on FOX on Sundays, and now being an analyst for ‘FOX NFL Kickoff’ feels full circle. Twelve years in this league has given me insight and opinions that I’m eager to share alongside the talented FOX NFL cast and crew.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Julian Edelman to the FOX Sports family,” FOX Sports president of production and operations and executive producer Brad Zager said in a statement. “His passion for the game, experience as a Super Bowl champion, and ability to connect with fans will unquestionably make him a valuable addition to our team, both on and off the screen.”
Edelman spent his entire 12-year NFL career with the Patriots. He was a three-time Super Bowl champion with New England and earned MVP honors in Super Bowl LIII.

During his time in the league, Edelman hauled in 620 receptions for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns. Additionally, the Patriots legend racked up 2,612 return yards and scored four special teams touchdowns.
The Patriots selected Edelman in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Kent State.
Julian Edelman already offering some NFL analysis
In July, Edelman showed off his knack for providing NFL insight while joining the New Heights podcast, hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce. He explained why he wasn’t quite sold on the Miami Dolphins.
“I could see Miami taking a step back,” Edelman said. “I don’t know if it was a fluke, but you know, December and November football’s different, it’s different.”
Edelman added that the hype surrounding the team could be a problem.
“I see them taking a step back because they have so much hype around them,” he said. “There’s like always that one team where they’re supposed to be good and something like, what is it, 40% of the teams that made the playoffs last year aren’t going to make the playoffs this year.”
