The Philadelphia Eagles signed Julio Jones to a one-year deal, according to a Tuesday release from the team.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Eagles signed Jones over other veterans after placing Quez Watkins on injured reserve. Philadelphia also dropped its first game of the year to the New York Jets.

Jones also reunites with AJ Brown, whom he played with during his stint with the Tennessee Titans.

“The Eagles recently placed WR Quez Watkins on IR with a hamstring injury and worked out WRs Marquez Callaway and Dezmon Patmon on Monday,” Schefter wrote on Twitter. “In the end, they turned to Julio Jones, who will be on his fourth team in four years. Jones’ 13,629 career receiving yards are the most of any active player in the NFL.”

Since 2011, Jones was one of the top wide receivers in the league coming out of Alabama. Over the last three seasons, his production tailed off, but there’s no denying his talent at his peak.

In 2015, he led the league in catches and yards and led the league in yards again in 2018. Over the course of his career with the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jones has 903 catches, 13,629 yards, 63 touchdowns and 15.1 yards per catch.

His career highs came in 2015 with 136 catches and 1,871 yards. Jones scored a career-high in touchdowns (10) in 2012, his second year in the league.
