Like it wasn’t even a big deal, Justin Allgaier made his way from P37 to P6 by the end of Stage 1, but he’s already frustrated. The NASCAR Xfinity Series race is only going to heat up.

Chandler Smith might be fighting someone else by the end of the night. Justin Allgaier has worked his butt off to get from the tail end of the field to the front. Now he has a championship in his eyes.

Allgaier was so frustrated that he called out Smith on the radio. He even brought up the fact Smith doesn’t have a job in NASCAR lined up for 2025.

“The 81 wonders why he doesn’t have a ride for next year,” Allgaier said, via Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic. “My blood pressure is high because people don’t get it.”

Justin Allgaier made his complaint as the race went under caution. Anthony Alfredo drove through the No. 45 of Stefan Parsons. Allgaier didn’t like how Smith was racing him. So, he complained.

This has been a contentious time for Allgaier. On Friday he wrecked his primary car and took out his anger on a tool box. Now that he has his backup car flying up through the field, the JR Motorsports driver is on edge and hoping to close the deal to win his first Xfinity Series championship.

Soon after the restart, Chandler Smith was spun out by his teammate Sheldon Creed. The two drivers were not on the same page. Smith did not dip down as low onto the apron as Creed expected, and the 81 got sent around.

Starting from the rear is tough. Having to do it with the most pressure you have had all season long is even harder. However, Justin Allgaier has done that. Now, he has a way to go. He has to close the deal, an issue he has in his career.

JR Motorsports had this backup car prepared perfectly. I’m sure they made tons of changes and updates to it between practice and the race today. But whatever was done, it was great. Allgaier is able to drive wherever he wants to go and has passed the field.

So, it’s a fight. Austin Hill is in it. Cole Custer is fast and looking to defend his championship. Then you have AJ Allmendinger. Kaulig Racing is throwing a bit of a Hail Mary, staying out for track position. A lot can happen between now and the end of the race.

While Justin Allgaier is frustrated he has to stay within himself. He cannot risk making a mistake or damaging his car in a spat with a non-playoff driver. If not, he may lose his opportunity to hoist the championship trophy tonight.
