Justin Allgaier wins Food City 300 after major pit road call
While his boss couldn’t get the win, Justin Allgaier was able to make a risky pit call and it worked as he won the Food City 300. It looked like Allgaier would be battling with Daniel Hemric and Dale Jr. for the win. He just edged out Hemric at the end to claim the NASCAR Xfinity Series victory.
In the end, JR Motorsports had three cars wrecked, a fourth one caught fire, and the fifth car was able to win the race. Justin Allgaier is making a strong push toward the Championship 4 and a potential Xfinity Series championship.
Even though we didn’t see the legend win this Food City 300, Allgaier put on a great show at the end and gave fans something worth watching.
Allgaier went to pit with less than 50 laps to go as he led the race. He got four new tires and then FLEW around the track for the win. Excellent strategy call.
With this win, Justin Allgaier gets a place in the Round of 8 for the Xfinity Series Playoffs. John Hunter Nemechek, Cole Custer, Austin Hill, and Chandler Smith round out the top-5 in the points standings.
The race really did look like it was going to go to Dale Earnhardt Jr. However, it instead went to a full-time Xfinity Series driver. A lot of fans will be happy to see that.
This is the third win of the season for Justin Allgaier. His first since winning at Daytona three weeks ago. His other win came at Charlotte earlier this season.

Justin Allgaier advances in playoffs
The biggest takeaway from this is that Justin Allgaier is moving to the Round of 8. Opening the Xfinity Series playoffs with a win will only help him in the long run. This is the latest in the season that Allgaier has won since picking up back-to-back wins at Richmond in 2020.
In the last seven seasons in the Xfinity Series Allgaier finished in the Championship 4 five times. With his big win at Bristol, it might just be his time to punch his ticket to the championship. It is clear he wants to make a career in the Xfinity Series and he wants to get himself a championship sooner rather than later.
For the next couple of races, Justin Allgaier doesn’t have to worry too much. However, picking up more playoff points would be great for his championship dreams.
How far will we see Allgaier go in these playoffs? Does he have a championship waiting for him in Phoenix?
