Justin Allgaier wins Xfinity Series championship, celebrates with Dale Earnhardt Jr.
14 years in the NASCAR Xfinity Series! Justin Allgaier is now a champion. He put on one of the greatest championship performances ever. Backup car, multiple penalties, and more. Allgaier overcame it all.
Riley Herbst passed Justin Allgaier on the last lap in double overtime to win the race. However, Gator didn’t mind giving up that position as he was on his way to the championship.
This was truly one of the gutsiest performances in a stock car you will ever see. Allgaier is the 2024 Xfinity Series champion!
This was the seventh time Justin Allgaier made the Championship 4. This time around, No. 7 wasn’t going to let it get away from him. In 2008 he was the ARCA Menards Series champion. After years of trying, 14 years, he has won another championship. I bet his Most Popular Driver title holds up, too.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. watched from pit road as Allgaier celebrated. The two were emotional after the win, embracing one another.

At one point tonight, Allgaier found himself two laps down. He had a restart violation and then while serving his pass-through penalty, sped on pit road. Then there was a point where Allgaier scrubbed his tire on Riley Herbst and had nurse his car home.
When the overtime came around, it felt like Allgaier’s chances were over. He had just passed Cole Custer under green. Despite having two scuff tires on the left side of his car in overtime, Allgaier outdrove everyone on the race track.
There was a ton of contact on the second overtime restart that almost took the win away as well. Justin Allgaier didn’t force the issue with Herbst late and happily came home P2 and with a championship.
