Chicago Bears coach Matt Eberflus described quarterback Justin Fields as “day-to-day” with a left shoulder injury heading into Week 12, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday.

Fields dislocated the shoulder but played through it this past Sunday against the Falcons. He finished the game 14-of-21 passing for 153 yards, a touchdown and an interception in addition to 85 yards rushing and another score as the Bears lost, 27-24.

Sunday’s loss was the fourth straight for Chicago, which is now 3-8 on the season.

The No. 11 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Fields is having a solid sophomore season thus far. Through 11 games, he has thrown for 1,642 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions with a completion rate of 59.6%. More impressively, his 834 yards rushing and seven touchdowns both lead all quarterbacks.

The Bears are scheduled to kickoff against the New York Jets at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, so Justin Fields’ injury status will be worth keeping an eye on throughout the week. Fields has yet to miss a game this season, and Trevor Siemian is the only other quarterback on the Chicago roster as of this writing.

Justin Fields flashes athleticism on touchdown run in Week 10

Even after his collegiate career, Justin Fields is still terrorizing the state of Michigan.

The former Ohio State star evaded immense pressure from the Detroit Lions defensive line – including former Michigan superstar Aidan Hutchinson – and managed to free himself enough to scramble outside and beat the defense into the end zone.

Fields only played the Wolverines once in his collegiate career, and it was a memorable one. The future Chicago Bears quarterback threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns as the Buckeyes took home a 24-15 win on the road.

Now, Fields is trying to keep that same energy in the pros and will hope to be healthy enough to make similar plays next week against the Jets.
