Justin Fields injury update: Pittsburgh Steelers inactives revealed for MNF vs. Giants
The Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) have released their list of inactives for the Week 8 home contest against the New York Giants (2-5) on Monday Night Football.
Justin Fields is inactive and will serve as the emergency third quarterback. Fields was questionable coming into the game after suffering a hamstring injury in practice this week. While not believed to be a major injury, Pittsburgh will play it safe with the 25-year-old, with Kyle Allen backing up Russell Wilson against the Giants.

RB/KR Cordarrelle Patterson
The Steelers’ offensive line has been ravaged by injuries and Frazier, who sprained his ankle in Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-6), will be sidelined for a second straight game. Ryan McCollum will get the start once again in his absence. McCollum had started just one game in his NFL career prior to Frazier’s injury.

“It’s crazy when you think about it,” left tackle Dan Moore Jr. said this week. “I mean, how many guys we’ve had go down since camp. It’s really crazy. But it’s also even crazier to see young guys like Mason [McCormick], who weren’t necessarily thinking they were going to be starters, and they have stepped in and done a great job. And I think they’re getting better every single week.
“And me personally, just knowing Ryan, his background, I’ve got high expectations for him. Just the type of demeanor that he has, the way he approaches each and every day. Ryan’s also an older guy. This is his fourth year in the league. My expectation is for him to do that every single week because I know he can. We’ve just got to keep building off of it. And that’s leaders, myself and Isaac [Seumalo], just have to keep instilling confidence in him and making sure that he has what he needs.”
