Justin Jefferson dedicates touchdown vs. Bears to Randy Moss on MNF
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson sent a message to Randy Moss during the Monday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears. After catching a touchdown pass in the first quarter, Jefferson went to the camera and said, “We love you Randy. That’s for you.”
Moss spent most of his NFL career with the Vikings (1998-2004, 2010) and became a superstar. The 47-year-old recently announced that he’s battling cancer and is recovering from major surgery.
“I’m not really taking a lot of questions,” Moss said on an Instagram Live video (per Vikings.com), “but I wanted my fans and all my prayers warriors to be able to see me, and I just wanted y’all to see I did bounce back. There are a lot of people out there who are either battling cancer, or they’ve had cancer in their family that people are fighting.

“I didn’t think I would ever be in a position like this, as healthy as I thought I was, but things took a turn for the worst,” he continued. “I asked for my prayer warriors, I asked for my family to surround me and put their hands on me through this trying time, and you all best believe your boy came through.”

Moss stepped away from his role as an analyst on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown on Dec. 6 to focus on his recovery. “As soon as I get healthy to get back out with guys, I will be on set. … Hopefully, I can be with you guys soon,” Moss said. “My goal is to get back on television with my team.”
The Vikings selected Moss at No. 21 overall in the 1998 draft, and Moss was named Offensive Rookie of the Year after catching 69 passes for 1,313 yards and 17 touchdowns. After his time in Minnesota ended, Moss played for multiple teams and finished his career after the 2012 season. Moss was named to the Pro Bowl six times, selected to the All-Pro First Team four times and is a member of the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.
Justin Jefferson is hoping to have the same type of career as Moss, and so far he’s off to a strong start. The 25-year-old has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times, named to the All-Pro Team three times and was named Offensive Player of the Year in 2022.
