Right now, there are no other NASCAR Cup Series teams pushing boundaries quite like Justin Marks and Trackhouse Racing. From NASCAR to IMSA and even competing in MotoGP. So, what is next for the organization?

If you talk to Justin Marks, the Indianapolis 500 is on his bucket list. He wants to see his organization compete in the biggest open-wheel race in the world. While it won’t be this year or probably even next year, it is something on Marks’ mind.

Speaking to the media about Helio Castroneves’ Daytona 500 effort this year, Marks let it be known the Indy 500 is on his radar. But he doesn’t want to get ahead of himself.

“It’s certainly a dream of mine to have Trackhouse represented in that race,” Marks said, via Dustin Long of NBC Sports. “There are continuing discussions. It’s no small feat. It’s something that we’ve looked at as a company for a number of years. I think when the time is right, we’ll take a real hard look at it. … I don’t think that the Trackhouse story will ever be complete without us competing in the world’s greatest open-wheel race.”

With a young talent like Connor Zilisch on the roster, why wouldn’t Justin Marks have the Indy 500 on his mind? Zilisch went to Europe and won the biggest karting championship they have over these drivers that are in the F1 and open-wheel pipeline.

Trackhouse has a lot of fantastic talent. There are so many good options for them to choose from. I think even Ross Chastain would want to give the Indy 500 a try if he had the option.

Can Trackhouse Racing put Connor Zilisch in the Double?

Now, while we’re thinking about the Indianapolis 500, why not the Double? Kyle Larson reminded everyone that it is still a feat that drivers are able to take on if they have the bravery and funding to do so.

Connor Zilisch is insanely talented. His road course prowess is second to none in NASCAR. Zilisch believes that he has what it takes to be the youngest Cup Series champion ever. If so, he will have to make it to the top series by 2026.

What if Zilisch did the Double as a rookie? Or perhaps waited a year or two? If Trackhouse Racing is going to take on the Indy 500 with its own driver, it will have to be a Double attempt.

Trackhouse Racing has big plans. They have eyes wider than their stomach so to speak. I’m not sure how far this organization can grow and how much Marks can stretch his brand, but until that limit is reached, I’ll take whatever surprises he has in store.
