Kadarius Toney addresses Instagram Live video where he claimed Chiefs were lying about his injuries
Kansas City Chiefs receiver Kadarius Toney claimed in an Instagram Live video on Jan. 28 that the team was lying about his injury status.
Toney, speaking with Michael Robinson of NFL Network at Super Bowl Opening Day at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas Monday, addressed his claim.
“A lot of footage got chopped up in the release, so it made it look like I was attacking the ones I love the most,” Toney said. “I would never attack the Chiefs; I didn’t say anything about the Chiefs. I was referring to the Giants fans in my comments. Was referring to them which I shouldn’t have. I just wanted to go out there and kinda like you said, get my message across as far as my injury, but shouldn’t have done that at the end of the day. I’m a man and I can accept my mistakes just like I accept my wins. I’m just moving past it now.”
Chiefs HC Andy Reid speaks out on Kadarius Toney
Toney, 25, has been absent for the last six games going back to the regular season. The former first-round pick has hauled in 27 receptions for 169 yards and a single score. The Chiefs ruled out Toney for the AFC Championship Game, listing hip/personal as the reason. Toney had his first child Saturday night, which is where the personal part of the designation came from.

ND coach addresses NFL rumors
Head coach Andy Reid, speaking with the media last Monday following Kansas City’s 17-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens, said that Toney’s injury is, in fact, real and that the team did not file an erroneous injury report.
“He’s been on the injury report, [so] that part is not made up by any means,” Reid said.
Reid noted he hadn’t seen Toney’s post but was told about it. He added that he is “working through some things,” and would be with the team for practice that week.
