As the Craftsman Truck Series field came off pit road between Stages 2 and 3, Kaden Honeycutt left with a souvenir. The NASCAR driver left with the gas can still attached to his truck.

The gasman was dragged along with the gas can as Kaden Honeycutt left pit road. Eventually, the crew member let go and the truck left. Honeycutt had been running in the front of the field for most of the night.

This is a tough break for this team that has honestly performed above expectations this season. Honeycutt went from the top-10 to P29 after the removing equipment penalty.

The Craftsman Truck Series race has been dominated by Corey Heim today. Tanner Gray was the pole sitter and won the ARCA Menards Series race earlier in the day. However, Gray just didn’t have the speed to keep up with his Tricon Garage teammate.

This moment from Kaden Honeycutt extended the caution between Stage 2 and Stage 3. When the gas can did finally fall off the truck it started to spill gas everywhere on the track. So, crews had to get it cleaned up before the final stage could begin.

While the start of this race was standard and there were plenty of green flag laps, towards the end things began to get sketchy.

Kaden Honeycutt trying to get back to top-5

With some clever pit strategy and a little bit of luck, Kaden Honeycutt is hoping that his truck has enough speed to get back to the top-5 by the end of this race. He has had a really solid season in 2024.

During his part-time schedule this year, Honeycutt has finishes of P6, P12, P9, and P4. He has been really good in that 45 truck when given a chance to drive it. I would bet that the 20 year old earns himself a few more starts if he keeps it up.

Honeycutt is another example of the CARS Tour developing solid drivers. Guys like Honeycutt, Layne Riggs, Carson Kvapil and others – they all cut their teeth in CARS Tour races.

While having a setback, Kaden Honeycutt has a truck capable of moving back through the field. I suspect that he will, as well. At this point. if the funding is there and I’m Niece Motorsports, I’m putting Honeycutt in this truck for the rest of the season with how well he has raced.
