Kamilla Cardoso's four-year contract figures with Chicago Sky revealed after WNBA Draft
The Chicago Sky made former South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft on Monday.
Shortly after Cardoso was picked, Spotrac revealed the details of her four-year rookie contract with the team. Cardoso’s deal with the Sky is worth $338,056 over four years. She will earn $76,535 in her rookie season. Cardoso fourth-year option is worth $97,582.
Cardoso began her career at Syracuse before transferring after one season. She won two national titles (2022 and ’24) with head coach Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks.
In 33 games last season, Cardoso averaged 14.4 points per game, 9.7 rebounds, two assists and shot 59.4% from the floor. Over the course of her career, Cardoso averaged 10.6 points per game, 7.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists and had a 57.5% shooting percentage.
Cardoso injured her knee in the Final Four against NC State. Following some treatment, she played in the national title game against Iowa and dominated. Cardoso had 15 points, 17 rebounds and two assists in the game to clinch a title and an undefeated season for the Gamecocks.

After leading South Carolina to a national title earlier this month, Cardoso talked about the impact Staley made on her career.
“She means a lot to me. I feel like, since the first day I got to South Carolina, she’s been working so hard to get me ready and prepared for moments like this,” she said. “I’m just so thankful to have her as a coach. She’s like an inspiration for me and a lot of young girls out there. I’m just so thankful to have her as a coach. She’s the best in the business, you already know.”

Cardoso got emotional while Speaking with Holly Rowe of ESPN after the Sky selected her.
“I had a goal to be here tonight and give my family a better life,” Cardoso said.
Cardoso also talked about how she was happy to have her mom at the WNBA Draft.
“It’s really special that she’s here,” Cardoso said. “She’s one of my biggest inspirations. She’s the reason that I’m here right now because she’s inspired me to play basketball. I’m just so thankful she’s able to be here.”
