Kansas City coach leaves stadium in ambulance after game
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid left Arrowhead Stadium in an ambulance after the Chief’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Reid was “feeling ill” after the game on Sunday and skipped his post-game press conference, according to NFL Network correspondent James Palmer. Palmer reports that Kansas City players were not aware of Reid’s condition but were told “he should be ok.”
Special teams coordinator Dave Toub filled in for Reid at the press conference after the game.
More reporting from 105.7 The Fan’s Jason La Canfora suggests Reid’s condition is not serious and the ambulance ride was precautionary. The head ball coach may just be dehydrated:
At 63 years old, Andy Reid has won two Super Bowls. He won one as a head coach with the Chiefs, and one as an assistant coach with the Green Bay Packers.
Chiefs fall to 1-2
After falling to the L.A. Chargers 30-24, Kansas City is now 1-2 on the season. the Chiefs led the game by three points heading into the fourth quarter. However, the Chargers outscored the Chiefs 16-7 in the fourth.

Reid’s squad started the season with a win over the Cleveland Browns, 33-29. Despite a 77% completion percentage from Patrick Mahomes in week two, the Chiefs fell to the Baltimore Ravens 36-35. Add the loss to the Chargers and Kansas City is below .500 for the first time under Andy Reid.
There’s a lot of season left to play, however. Kansas City plays the Eagles in the early window next Sunday. The Eagles will be coming off of short rest after facing the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
Asante Samuel Jr. picks off Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes’ stat line fell victim to a tipped ball on Sunday afternoon. Rookie defensive back Asante Samuel Jr. took full advantage, picking the ball off with a diving grab.
Last week, Samuel grabbed the first interception of his NFL career off of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
