The Kansas City Chiefs are officially going Hollywood as they have launched a production studio ahead of Super Bowl LIX. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Foolish Club Studios will develop scripted and unscripted content for shortform and longform platforms.

The Chiefs already have an in-house production team called 65 Toss Power Trap Production Group that focuses on football content. Foolish Club will focus more on entertainment fare which expands the boundaries of what the team is doing now.

“Foolish Club Studios is a tribute to my father in so many ways,” Clark Hunt, chairman and CEO of the Kansas City Chiefs, said in a statement. “My father constantly pushed boundaries and inspired innovative thinking, and that is exactly the ethos we expect this new studio to embrace as we expand our ambitions in storytelling and continue to make the game more accessible to our fans.”

“We are thrilled to launch Foolish Club Studios and are excited for what this new business represents in our ability to explore amazing stories of hard work, innovation, perseverance, humility, sportsmanship, fandom, and more,” team President Mark Donovan added. “Storytelling around sports captivated Lamar, and we believe the studio will capture the heart and soul of his vision and allow us to connect with individuals around the world in new and unique ways, regardless of their fandom.”

More on the Chiefs and their new production studio

The name “Foolish” is a tribute to Lamar Hunt, the founder of the Chiefs and the American Football League. Some said that Hunt and the original owners of the AFL embraced the “foolish” effort to take on the NFL.

As mentioned earlier, the Chiefs are no strangers to being part of the entertainment scene. Last year, Hallmark Channel released the TV movie Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story which featured Chiefs players and head coach Andy Reid.

Speaking of Reid, he has appeared in multiple State Farm commercials with quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Tight end Travis Kelce is making some noise in Hollywood, appearing in the FX series Grotesquerie and hosting the game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity. Later this year, Kelce will appear in the Netflix film Happy Gilmore 2 with Adam Sandler.

Right now, the Chiefs are focused on one thing, and that’s Super Bowl LIX. The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the big game on Sunday and are looking to be the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
