Rumors began to swirl on Friday morning regarding Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and two of his family members.

Former NFL offensive lineman and current Fox Sports Radio host Rich Ohrnberger tweeted out Mahomes sat down with his fiancé Brittany Matthews and his brother Jackson once the season ended. Ohrnberger then said the quarterback asked the two to not attend any Chiefs games this season.

“Another interesting note… I’ve been told, Patrick Mahomes had a sit down following the season with his brother and fiancé,” Ohrnberger tweeted out on Friday. “Ultimately it concluded with him asking them to not attend any games this upcoming season.

“Not surprisingly, Mahomes believes that Jackson and Brittany have become a distraction, and their sideline antics are bad for his brand. A lot can change over an offseason, but for now that’s the story as it was told to me.”

Since then, reports have come out saying Ohrnberger’s report is far from true. In fact, TMZ said “it’s a load of crap” and said there has been no meeting between Mahomes and his two family members.

“Our sources tell us the convo simply never happened … and Patrick can’t wait to have his loved ones cheering him on in 2022,” TMZ said in their report.

Mahomes himself shot down the rumor on Twitter.

A lot of the criticism about Brittany and Jackson has come from the social media world, specifically Twitter and TikTok. The fiancé was seen spraying a bottle of champagne from their box into the crowd after advancing to the AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills. As for Jackson, he has posted multiple videos of him dancing before Chiefs games, specifically during Sean Taylor’s retirement ceremony in Washington.

TMZ says Mahomes “can’t wait to have” both Brittany and Jackson supporting him and Kansas City during the 2022 season. Another Super Bowl championship will be the goal after falling just short this past year.
