You know, Keelan Harvick is growing up quickly and he is learning a lot of lessons on his driving journey, like sometimes it doesn’t go your way. That’s the big lesson from the young Harvick’s time at the Cook Out Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This is a place where tons of NASCAR stars cut their teeth in their early years.

In a U.S. Legend Cars race, Keelan Harvick had to get a little aggressive. The only issue is everyone else did too. That caused a little bit of a mess in his Shootout race. However, that is how racing goes at times.

As the son of Kevin Harvick, I’m sure Keelan knows how to take a tough finish on the chin. After racing karts in Italy for a while, Keelan was back in America to get some stock car experience under his belt.

“Qualified p3 out of 31, but started p2 with a penalty and an invert. I had high hopes for the night, but sometimes you’re the windshield and sometimes you’re the bug. I was the bug… On to the next,” Keelan’s Twitter post said.

You never want to see your car on the tow truck, no matter how small that car is.

Keelan Harvick might have a busier schedule than Kevin at this point. The young racer is just learning at this point. He will have a wealth of experience under his belt by the time he’s ready for late-model racing.

Keelan Harvick racing all over the place

If it isn’t in a Legend car, then Keelan Harvick is likely racing karts. He has moved up quickly at his age and appears to be racing against older competition. Recently, Keelan made a big step in his karting career by moving up to a bigger kart, the X30 Junior. He also had a great place to race.

Trackhouse Motorplex hosts all kinds of events and races. It is where Keelan is going up against some fierce competition. Of course, he’s used to racing internationally, so things might not be as difficult for the NASCAR legacy as it is for others.

In his first X30 Junior start, Keelan was solid. He qualified well and finished fourth overall after leading some laps. It was impressive and he came away wth some prize money, a trophy, and another level unlocked on his journey to becoming an F1 driver.

Keep an eye out. Kevin Harvick might be putting a close on his career. However, Keelan Harvick is just getting his started.
