At 12 years old, Keelan Harvick has scored his first Limited Late Model win. He took the checkered flag in a 50-lap race at Florence Speedway today. The son of NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick is well on his way to being a successful racer himself.
Keelan Harvick made his first start in a Limited Late Model late in 2024 at Florence. Clearly he learned a thing or two because he not only won, but he won by four seconds running away.
Harvick won over Ricky Loclair Jr., Truett Miranda, David Snook Jr., and Blake Lothian to round out the top-5. There were 11 drivers in the field in total. Nine drivers finished on the lead lap.
On his way to victory, Keelan Harvick started on the pole, led every lap, and showed that there is likely more to him than just a name.
In his retirement, Kevin Harvick gets to do something perhaps more rewarding than his own racing career. He gets to guide his son on his own path in the sport. Already early in the 2025 season and Keelan has a win to his name.
Florence Speedway will likely be a track that Keelan Harvick attends frequently. Race fans will get to see Keelan and Kevin, father and son, compete against each other at points this season.
While Kevin is doing the TV thing over at FOX, Keelan will be putting in the laps. When the time comes, the old man might not be able to keep up with the kid.

Keelan Harvick showing promise at a young age
This win is a big deal. While Limited Late Models are not the most competitive division of racing, there are still racers in these cars. At 12, it’s amazing that Keelan Harvick is racing a full-sized stock car in the first place.
Watching NASCAR stars like Harvick, Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, and others take an interest in their kid’s careers is great. It is clear that a few of these youngsters have real talent should they want to pursue racing. For Keelan Harvick and Brexton Busch, that decision is pretty much made.
Florence Speedway is hosting the Icebreaker this weekend. It is a race that has attracted the likes of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and other big names in the past. While Dale Jr. passed up on this year’s race, it is a track that he often talks about.
Keelan Harvick is on his way to the top. He’s winning these Limited Late Model races now, just wait until he gets into the Truck Series.
