Keidron Smith picks off second interception of preseason for the Denver Broncos

Keidron Smith is two-for-two in preseason games with an interception for the Denver Broncos.
Towards the end of the first half against Green Bay on Sunday, Smith picked off QB Sean Clifford. He nearly ran it all the way back too with him taking it away at the 30-yard line and getting it all the way back to the opposite 15-yard line.
QB Jarrett Stidham would then capitalize on that turnover before the half with a nine-yard rushing score to give the Broncos a 17-0 lead.
Through two preseason games, Smith now has the pair of picks after getting another interception off of QB Sam Ehlinger in a 34-30 win in the opener against the Indianapolis Colts. He also has three tackles and a deflection in those outings.
Smith is one year into his professional career after going undrafted following a collegiate career at Kentucky and Ole Miss. While with the Wildcats and Rebels, he posted seven interceptions, including four in his final two years with one going for a pick-six, and 26 deflections. He also had 262 tackles and forced six fumbles with one recovery.
He signed with the Miami Dolphins after the draft as he also later spent time with the Washington Commanders as a rookie. Denver then signed him to their practice squad to end last season with them since signing him to a reserve contract earlier this year.

Bo Nix connects with Tim Patrick for preseason touchdown vs. Packers
QB Bo Nix has looked very comfortable in the preseason so far for the Denver Brocos.
Nix continued to impress on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers when he connected with WR Tim Patrick for another touchdown.
On the opening drive, Nix was on fire, connecting on eight of his nine passes for 80 yards and a touchdown. Through two preseason games, he has now connected on 23 of 30 passes for 205 yards while running for 29 yards on the ground. He has also had two touchdowns.
Nix has been impressive in preseason and it’ll be interesting to see if he can win the starting job before the season opener for Denver.
Nix was selected with the 12th overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He’ll now look to continue his career into the pros after a collegiate career at Oregon and Auburn.
