The Green Bay Packers and Pro Bowl nose tackle Kenny Clark have agreed to terms on another massive contract extension to keep him with the franchise for the next few years, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He signed a three-year extension worth $64 million. The extension includes $29 million in 2024.

Clark, 28 years old, was the No. 27 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, becoming a key contributor for the Packers for the last eight seasons. In his 123 career games, the former UCLA star has tallied 34.0 sacks with 47 tackles for loss and 71 quarterback hits.

Last year, he started all 17 games for Green Bay, racking up a career-high 7.5 sacks with nine tackles for loss and 16 quarterback hits. He also had three passes defended and two forced fumbles. Clark earned Pro Bowl honors last year for the third time in his career.

Shortly after the news of the deal was announced, he posted a picture of himself on his Instagram page signing the contract. During his college career with the UCLA Bruins, Clark was named a third team All-American and first team All-Pac 12 player in 2015, his best season. The California native racked up a career-high 11 tackles in the Foster Farms Bowl against Nebraska. He finished with 75 tackles and six sacks, before deciding to enter the 2016 NFL Draft. Clark was a first round selection in the draft, being picked No. 27 overall by Green Bay.

Clark and the Packers have an extremely bright future ahead

The Packers franchise had an impressive season in 2023-2024, steamrolling the Cowboys (48-32) in the first round of the NFC Playoffs, before falling short to the San Francisco 49ers (24-21). Green Bay finished off their regular season by rattling off three straight wins in order to punch their tickets to the playoffs.

They’ve got a nice, young core of offensive weapons, led by quarterback Jordan Love. He enjoyed a breakout year last year, completing 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards, while tossing in 32 touchdowns with 11 interceptions.

It was his first full year as the starter in Green Bay. Love is currently surrounded by an incredibly talented and youthful receiving corps, led by Romeo Doubs. He hauled in 59 catches for 674 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

Then they’ve got Christian Watson, who has been slowed by hamstring issues in the past, but when healthy, has shown his ability to make explosive plays in the open field.

Ahead of training camp, the Packers decided to put Jayden Reed on the Non-Football Injury list on Sunday, meaning he suffered the injury away from the team’s facility.

Reed was one of the Packers’ biggest stars last season, hauling in 64 catches for 793 yards and eight touchdowns in his rookie campaign. Another key contributor in their passing attack last year was former Virginia star, Dontayvion Wicks.

Wicks showed the same ability in his rookie season that allowed him to set school records during his time in Charlottesville. He hauled in 39 catches for 581 yards and four touchdowns. Together, they’ve carved out a name for themselves as one of the younger and more talented receiving units in all of the National Football League.
