The final game of the opening night of the SEC/ACC Challenge will be between No. 4 Kentucky and Clemson.

This will be the last matchup of a ten-game slate between the two conferences on Tuesday. Six more are then scheduled on Wednesday. It’s the second year of the event for the men’s and women’s programs for each league with both sides having tied at eight wins apiece last season.

Now, this will make for one of the more interesting ones beyond the primetime games tomorrow with a top-five team from the Southeastern Conference going on the road in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

No. 4 Kentucky (7-0) is off to their best start since 2016 in their debut year under Mark Pope. That includes a win over a Top-10 team out of the ACC in Duke during the Champions Classic. Through those eight games, they’ve posted one of the best margins of victory in the country with the Wildcats winning by 28.6 points. Five players are averaging double figures and the team as a whole is efficient in their offensive splits too in posting the No. 1 scoring offense in the nation at 96.7 ppg.. However, Littlejohn Coliseum will be the first true road environment of the season for UK

Clemson (7-1) is also off to a good start to this season. They do have a double-digit road loss at Boise State but also have a win over Penn State in the Sunshine Slam Championship from during Feast Week. They’ve done that through the returning play of Chase Hunter (16.4 ppg. on 51.1% FG, 46.5% 3PT) and Ian Schieffelin (12.5 ppg., 11.6 rpg., 3.6 apg.). This will be their toughest test by far to this point, though.
