Kevin Durant claps back with hilarious NSFW response to Skip Bayless 'semi-retired' criticism

When it comes to enduring the most criticism from Skip Bayless over the years, there’s no question that players like Kevin Durant have endured the brunt of the verbal storm. That’s part of the price he’s paid for being one of the best players in the NBA during the same time of Bayless’ ascension in sports talk media.
And Durant has been no stranger to clapping back against criticism of him and his game over the years on Twitter. So, on Sunday evening, it was pretty clear that Durant unleashed a tweet that he’d been loading in the chamber for quite some time.
Bayless went into a rant about how Durant was washed up on The Skip Bayless Show, his YouTube channel. And let’s just say the longtime NBA star decided to let the commentator have it with a hilarious tweet.
“F**k it, We’re both washed, it was a great run,” Durant tweeted.
It’ll go down as one of the more hilarious tweets Kevin Durant has ever sent in his career. And he’s sent some great ones over the years. It’ll be tough to top that one, for the timing, and simply the way he said it.
Here is the transcribed version of what Bayless said on his show above. “The more I watch him at age 36, the more he looks mentally semiretired to me. He’s participating in a documentary that’s being made about his life and times and it just feels to me, like he’s winding down his basketball. And it’s reflecting in the Sun’s win-loss record,” Bayless began.

“Because they started off 8-1 this year. Since then they’ve gone 20-31. They’re 28-33 overall, as we speak. That’s four games out of the play in. Even though Kevin is putting up tremendous numbers. Kevin Durant style numbers. He’s averaging 27, six, and four. Shooting 53% from the floor and 40% from three. But they just don’t guard, because they don’t seem to care. They look lifeless to me,” Bayless continued.
For context, Durant is averaging 26.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. He’s also hitting 52.9% of his shots from the field, while connecting on 39.9% of his three-pointers.
“They are the flip side of the team at the top of the West standings, the team Kevin started with. That team is motivated to go places. The Phoenix Suns just look like they’re done to me, because Kevin looks like he’s on his last mental legs, not his last physical, just mental legs. He’s not really into it the way he used to be into it when he went to Golden State,” Bayless explained.
“And now, to me, as gifted as he still is, Kevin’s just going through the motions and the Suns have set in the West,” Bayless finished. The Suns currently sit at 30-34 overall, ranking them 11th place in the Eastern Conference. Next up, Durant and Phoenix will take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, March 10th.
