This season, Kevin Harvick is going to get on the short tracks for Pro Late Model racing, and Keelan Harvick is going to race him. Father and son will be going head-to-head in a matter of a few months. NASCAR legend and his progeny.

Keelan Harvick made his Limited Late Model debut at the end of 2024. A couple of weeks ago, Keelan won his first race in the Limited car.

Kevin Harvick has plans to race his son. They will go against each other multiple times in 2025, but it all starts May 31st. The Harvicks will race at Kern Raceway in the CARS Tour West.

“So, today, we are announcing Keelan and I’s first race against each other,” Harvick said on his Happy Hour podcast. “It’s going to be May 31st in my hometown of Bakersfield, California at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway. How cool is it to have our – the first time we’re going to race each other it’s going to be in my hometown in front of the fans that supported me for so long. He’s going to run his first race there in March. But the first of what looks to be about eight races this year will happen at Kern in the Pro Late Model on the CARS Tour West, May 31st.”

As for the action on the track, Kevin Harvick has warned his son. Wrecks happen, but don’t go wrecking your dad and teammate. And definitely don’t do it unless you are racing for a trophy.

“Well, he’s a s**t talker,” Harvick later joked. “We’ll just put that out right now. So, especially at home, and he’s very competitive. So, it’s – it, for me being able to, it doesn’t really matter if I win or lose. I want him to do as good as possible. I think the expectation is for him to be competitive and me to be competitive as well. So, you know, my big thing to him is, you better now wreck me. Because if you wreck me, I’m paying for both cars, or our program is paying for both cars, and if you wreck me, we’re going to have a big problem. You better make sure it matters and we’re racing for something pretty damn cool like a win because we’re going to have some issues if it’s for eighth.”

Kevin Harvick has a lot of FOX business to attend to. Once his leg of the Cup Series season is over with, then it is to the race track with Keelan. Is there any chance we see young Keelan get one or two wins over his old man?
