Kevin Harvick assesses Joey Logano chances in NASCAR Playoffs after Alex Bowman disqualification
Joey Logano remains in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs after Alex Bowman’s disqualification at the Roval race in Charlotte. On Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour, Kevin Harvick reveals Logano’s chances of reaching the championship despite being in eighth place in the playoff standings.
“That 22 (Logano) team, they’ve been in positions before where they’ve been in the playoffs out of the playoffs and been able to perform,” Harvick said. “When you look at the 22 car on the mile and a half race tracks in general, they obviously haven’t been as good as what they need to be compared to Hendrick cars and the Chevrolets, the [Joe] Gibbs cars especially at Las Vegas. We saw them not run great.
“I think when you look at the Fords in general that are left with [Ryan] Blaney and Logano, Blaney is going to be the pick. But I can tell you this, if they do have anything that’s better, Las Vegas has been a place that the Penske cars have run well,” Harvick continued. “
Joey Logano reacts to advacing to NASCAR’s Round of 8 playoffs
“I don’t see them going to Homestead and winning the race. I think if they’re going to go to any of the three race tracks and run well, it’s going to be Martinsville because of the short track system and program that they have had this year. For Logano, I can’t imagine going home from the race and being done with the event thinking that you’re out of the playoffs to all of a sudden getting that call saying, “Hey, we’re in guys. Let’s go do this.’ What a roller coaster of emotions for everybody.”

Logano is now one step closer to winning his third Cup Series title. On Tuesday, the 34-year-old spoke to the media about advancing to the Round of 8 after Bowman was disqualifed after a post-race inspection for the car being underweight.
“I was obviously surprised,” Logano told Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. “I heard rumors before that of a delay in tech and some of those things going on. Usually nothing happens and so I was kind of surprised to hear that. Typically, by the time you roll the car off the scales to give them the opportunity to put weight in the car, it’s usually fine. In this case, that wasn’t the case, and I was like, ‘Would we be in?’ That was the first question you have to ask and obviously the answer was yes.”
