Kevin Harvick gives surprising choice for driver who should have highest level of concern
Kevin Harvick revealed which driver in the NASCAR Cup Series should have the highest level of concern at the moment, and his choice might surprise you.
There’s a bevy of options who have been slightly disappointing to open up the 2024 season. Former Daytona 500 winner Austin Dillon has had a string of bad luck that’s dropped him to P32 in points, and Harvick’s replacement in the No. 4 Josh Berry has had a rough go of things, stuck in P31 at the moment.
While he may be above those two drivers, it’s not by much, a Harvick chose Joey Logano as the driver he’s concerned about the most, as the No. 22 is currently down in P30 when it comes to the NASCAR Cup Series standings.
During the latest episode of his Harvick’s Happy Hour, the freshly retired veteran elaborated on why the two-time NASCAR Cup Series title winner is raising concern among the media, as he’s usually among the top choices to win week-in and week-out.
“I’m most concerned about the No. 22, Joey Logano,” Harvick stated. “That’s that’s my biggest concern right now. Because they were good at Daytona. Controlled the race. But man, giving yourself just an opportunity to win at Talladega and Daytona, that’s really the only two super — those are the only two super speedways we have left before the playoffs. I mean, is that really their only chance to win at this point? I don’t know.
“They haven’t really shown the speed outside of the — they didn’t show it at Vegas, and they didn’t show it at at Phoenix. So you know, if I’m — if I’m a Ford fan in general, I’m concerned.”

Of course, Logano showed major speed at Daytona and Atlanta, and qualified on the front-row for both, even if he was sent to the rear for the latter. However, he led a myriad of laps during each weekend, before falling behind in Las Vegas and Phoenix.
While the worm hasn’t turned yet, Harvick believes Logano will figure it all out, as he leans on his experience to get the job done.
“I think Joey Logano can figure it out,” Harvick added. “I think those guys have the experience to figure out. I just don’t know that they’re going to have the — I don’t know that they have the car to compete, with with the Toyotas and the Chevrolets.”
Time will tell if Joey Logano is able to turn his season around, but it’s still early in the NASCAR Cup Series season. The Team Penske wheelman has won at Bristol twice in his career, so perhaps The Last Great Coliseum will be kind to him again on St. Patrick’s Day.
