While NASCAR has two weeks until they race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kevin Harvick has been given a massive honor. The 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway presented by Mobil 1. This is something that Harvick says is “top of the list” among his retirement tour “surprises.”

It has been so much fun to see all of the Kevin Harvick love. When he took on an impossible job as a rookie, replacing Dale Earnhardt, he had the world on his shoulders. Now, 60 wins, a championship, endless moments of emotion and passion.

While Happy Harvick has been having a tough final year, it isn’t all bad. So, it hasn’t gone the way they hoped up to this point. However, The Closer seems at peace with it all. Having a race named in his honor might be a little bit better than winning a race.

“That is really cool,” Harvick said in a video. “The 4Ever 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. That is definitely top of the list for the surprises of the year. You never know what’s coming next and the year has just been filled with great support from sponsors and fans, and race tracks. To have the 4Ever 400 race title is something I didn’t expect. So, thank you Mobil 1, and this is going to be fun.”

Now, imagine if he goes out there and wins this thing! Homestead-Miami Speedway has been good to him over the years. He earned his 2014 championship there.

Will Kevin Harvick find his way to victory lane?

Twice in these playoffs, Kevin Harvick has been close to a win. At Darlington, he was thwarted by that caution just as he was entering pit road and had to serve a penalty. It took his chance at catching Tyler Reddick and ultimately, ended his playoff run.

Then, in the Round of 12 at Talladega, it felt like he might will his way to a win. He was right there! The Closer was ready to do it one last time and narrowly take the checkered flag. Just as he was coming to the line, his pusher, Riley Herbst was spun out and his momentum slowed. Oh, and he got disqualified after.

Time and time again, it has felt like the 4 was going to get it done. It just hasn’t come together. Las Vegas, Homestead-Miami, Martinsville, and Phoenix. All of those are tracks that Harvick can win at. He just needs the right car to get it done.

So, Kevin Harvick is going to have four more chances at glory. Could it happen in his namesake race, the 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway?
