Kevin Harvick reflects on how he wants to be remembered after NASCAR retirement
Kevin Harvick had a lot of time to think about his retirement. The 48-year-old driver spent a lot of time in the NASCAR Cup Series. Harvick is now officially done and is moving on to his role in the broadcast booth.
A champion. One of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers. Kevin Harvick left a legacy that few in the sport have ever come close to achieving. Still, there are those things that every athlete wants to be remembered for. No matter how much success they had in their career.
For Harvick, it’s simple – he hopes to have the respect of his peers.
“If I’m remembered, that’s good enough for me,” Harvick said in a Mobil 1 video. “As you go through your career you want to be able to do enough things where people will remember your name and pull your videos up and look at the records – and just have some impact scattered over the record books and the sport.
“It’s important to have the respect of your peers and them knowing that you were competitive and fierce and also fair and had a firm understanding of the sport and the history of the sport and respecting the things that come with NASCAR racing.”
I don’t think Kevin Harvick will have to worry about being remembered. As for the respect of his peers, the future Hall of Famer got a standing ovation from his fellow drivers at his final drivers meeting in Phoenix.
So, off into the sunset Harvick will go. Except, he’ll be back for at least half of the NASCAR season. When he gets in the booth for Fox, it should help elevate the broadcasts.

Kevin Harvick passes sponsorship on to Joey Logano
Since Kevin Harvick is moving on, some of his sponsors are looking for new drivers to rep their brands. Ross Chastain is going to be the new Busch Light driver. However, there is another sponsor that Harvick recently passed on to another driver.
Hunt Brothers Pizza is going to be with Joey Logano next year. Team Penske landed the sponsor from Stewart-Haas Racing. Hunt Bros. wanted a change, and the two-time Cup Series champ is a great choice.
“We’re excited and honored to bring Hunt Brothers Pizza on board next season,” said Logano in a statement. “Their commitment to excellence both on the track and in the marketplace – in addition to their longstanding support of motorsports – makes Hunt Brothers Pizza a perfect fit at Team Penske. I look forward to racing the No. 22 Hunt Brothers Pizza Ford Mustang in 2024 and we hope to see those popular red and green colors in Victory Lane next season.”
Hunt Brothers Pizza goes from Kevin Harvick to Logano. They will remain a partnership with Harvick and KHI Management. The rand will be an associate sponsor for Ryan Blaney in 2024 as well.
