Kevin Harvick's son Keelan takes next step in racing journey
While Kevin Harvick puts a close on his NASCAR Cup Series career, his son Keelan is just getting his racing journey started in earnest. Another step up in the kart ranks, Keelan is on his way to racing against some serious talent. As a Harvick, he’ll have a target on his back as he races not just in America but around the world.
It was on Sunday that Keelan made his debut in an X30 Junior. This is a heavier kart than the minis that Keelan has driven growing up. At the Trackhouse Motorplex, a group of young drivers took to the track to compete for trophies and a payday.
The Trackhouse Motorplex was able to give cash prizes and trophies to the top-5 finishes. After starting 9th and leading laps at one point, Keelan finished P4. Kevin Harvick was super proud of his son and his accomplishment in his X30 Junior debut.
Just seeing Kevin Harvick’s son on a podium gives you chills. The fact he did it in the Hunt Brothers Pizza firesuit, that makes it even more special. Also, let’s point out that Keelan looks like he’s the youngest in that group of young drivers. A bright future ahead for Harvick in karts.
While Keelan drives just about anything he can get his hands on, the karts are where he succeeds most. It is also where he wants to continue his journey, with hopes of being an F1 driver one day.

Kevin Harvick making final start at New Hampshire
Of course, the big news of the weekend is the fact that Kevin Harvick is saying farewell to a track he has been great at. In fact, he is tied for most wins ever at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Now, The Closer, closes another chapter of his career. He’s ready for it, too.
“It’s just been a good place for us to race throughout the years,” said Harvick, via Holly Cain, NASCAR Wire Service. “I grew up on a lot of the short tracks and flat short tracks out West and we spent a lot of time at RCR [Richard Childress Racing] at a lot of the flat tracks – and always ran good. That carried over to Stewart-Haas Racing and just wound up being one of our really good spots.
“I feel like four wins should be 10, but I feel like that at a lot of places. So, I guess that’s just the racer’s mentality on how you think about things. It’s been a great place to race and I’ve seen it go through some different transitions as far as the layout of the track, but it’s been fun to come here and we have a great following up here.”
Having good history at a track, matters. Knowing how to feel out the grip and find the speed is even more important. Kevin Harvick has one more chance at winning his fifth at the Magic Mile. Starting P13, he’ll have a decent shot at finding his way through the field.
